Frequently Asked Questions

Buying

Where can I buy your work?

The best way is in person at one of our shows. We bring walking sticks, staffs, canes, wands and more to Renaissance faires and festivals around Florida. Check the show schedule to see where we'll be next. For something specific, contact us.

Is every piece one of a kind?

Yes. Every piece is shaped and finished by hand, and natural wood is never the same twice, so no two are exactly alike. The photos in our portfolio show past work to give you an idea of what we make.

Can I reserve a piece I saw in the portfolio?

Many pieces in the portfolio have already found homes, but we can often make something similar. Send us a message and tell us which photo caught your eye.

Custom orders

Do you take custom orders?

Yes. We make custom walking sticks, staffs, wands, and signs and product displays for businesses and booths. Tell us what you have in mind (the type of piece, size, wood and any decoration) through our contact form and we'll get back to you with ideas and a quote.

How long does a custom order take?

It depends on the piece and on our show schedule. We'll give you a time estimate along with your quote, so you'll know what to expect before you commit.

Can I choose the wood?

Absolutely. See our Wood Types guide for the woods we work with, including their color, character and the folklore behind them. If you're not sure, tell us how the piece will be used and we'll suggest a good match.

Do you make signs for businesses?

Yes. We make custom signs and product displays. See examples on our Custom Work page, then contact us for a quote.

Sizing and care

How do I choose the right size?

See our Sizing Guide for how to measure for a cane, walking stick, staff or wand, plus a quick height chart.

How do I care for my walking stick or wand?

Keep it dry, wipe it clean with a soft cloth, and avoid leaving it in a hot car. An occasional light coat of furniture wax or wood oil keeps the finish fresh. There are more tips in the Sizing Guide.

Shows and events

Which shows do you attend?

We're regulars at Renaissance faires and festivals around Florida. Our show schedule always has the latest dates, hours and locations.

We're organizing an event. Would you be a vendor?

We'd love to hear about it. Send us the details: the date, location, hours and vendor information.

Wood and folklore

What do the folklore notes on the Wood Types page mean?

Many woods have centuries of tradition and folklore behind them, from the Norse World Tree (ash) to the Druids' sacred oak. We share these traditional and modern beliefs because they're part of what makes each wood special. They're for interest and inspiration, not scientific or medical claims.
